"Of all the things I've done in life, directing a motion picture is the most beautiful. It's the most exciting and the nearest than an interpretive craftsman, such as an actor can possibly get to being a creator."
- Sir Laurence Olivier

Eric Muss-Barnes, Founder

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Eric Muss-Barnes has worked on major motion pictures as a stand-in and a production assistant. Experienced in numerous forms of visual and media artistry, he has been a creative director at a webcasting facility, building and conceptualizing their entire editing suite and production studio from scratch, and as a freelance writer and artist for the toy design division of American Greetings.

Having begun producing music videos for bands, shorts and feature films, and other multimedia projects, under the name Dreamdancer Motion Pictures (which he founded in 1993), he also created a gothic/industrial video magazine which aired on television across northern Ohio called "Shellsongs : Audible Shadows." That show eventually lead to a television/webcast program he produced, edited and directed called "makebelieve : the crafts of stage & screen" which featured interviews with actors, directors, composers, effects artists, stunt coordinators, and various other filmmakers in the Northern Ohio film community. Dreamdancer Motion Pictures now has the capability to venture into all facets of digital video and moviemaking from pre-production and acquisition through editing and post-production. The short film "The Unseelie Court" was featured in the Ohio Independent Film Festival.

Beyond movie interests, he has been a freestyle BMX enthusiast, skateboarder, snowboarder and is a hang glider pilot and Hang 2 Rated member of the United States Hang Gliding Association with over 17 hours of flight time. He was involved in the medieval recreation group, the Society for Creative Anachronism, for many years, starting in 1990.

Also a published novelist, Eric released the epic dark fantasy, "The Gothic Rainbow" in 1997. He wrote the short story "Born of the Night" for the "Tales from the Dark Tower" anthology of Joseph Vargo's artwork, published by Monolith Graphics in 2000. In addition to having his writing appear in numerous magazines, Eric has also composed an unpublished book of poetry and axioms.

His 35mm film photography of fashion models, portraiture, landscapes and digital artwork has been featured at several gallery showings around the country, and sells over the Internet from his WyndFeather Photography Gallery website. The unique photography style he has developed has been commissioned for everything from modeling portfolios to album covers for bands.

He has done graphic design, photography, video production and webdesign for the likes of Those Characters From Cleveland, Huntington National Banks, Diebold, Little Tikes, the former Cleveland Ballet, Wicked Talent modeling agency, and Chain Link Addiction clothing stores. Skills in complex Internet programming and design allowed him to invent and establish FilmedInCleveland.Com which is a dynamic and highly database-driven film resource website. The entire FilmedInCleveland.Com project was conceived, created, programmed and designed by Eric in the summer of 2000.

Quantus Pictures

Dreamdancer Motion Pictures is proud to have had Jason J. Tomaric work on our team. The creative founder of Quantus Pictures, Jason's childhood interests in science fiction and epic action-films filled with special effects and computer graphics established Jason Tomaric's desire to explore storytelling through film.

A high school senior in 1994, Jason premiered his first feature film, "Ten Little Indians" at the Geauga Theatre. The silver screen Agatha Christie novel adaptation attracted a sold out performance and national media attention. It was clear to the Cleveland community and followers of independent film, a real talent was in the making.

Following graduation, Jason received a full scholarship to the film school at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. Along with his studies, Jason began working in the industry, producing award-winning commercials and nationally-televised music videos. All the while, however, Jason was crafting the final touches to his science fiction action-thriller screen play, "One".

During his senior college year, Jason received permission to spend one year off campus as part of the Honors Tutorial Program. At last, it was time for Jason to create movie magic with his project "One". Locations, wardrobe, special effects, and set designs would be challenge enough for most, but when striving for that realistic, multi-million dollar epic look, Jason set his sights even higher and selected a collaborative team of other talented "big thinkers" to make it happen.

With a budget of less than $20,000, Jason knew film would not be a practical cost option, so he set out to do the impossible; Shoot a feature film on digital video that "looked like film." The production quality and light-weight flexibility of the Sony VX1000, along with Jason's discipline for using film lighting techniques were the foundation for the cinematic look he sought in producing "One".

For seventy-eight shooting days spanning forty-five locations over a year and a half, the thirty-five crew members, main cast and three thousand extras would embrace the excitement of great filmmaking, fun, and history being made. The making of "One" demonstrates the collaboration of thousands of people toward one vision and one standard of quality and commitment.

Since then, clients such as McDonald's, Hitachi Medical Systems, Dreamdancer Motion Pictures and various advertising sgencies have been drawn to the spectacular visual style Jason delivers. Jason continues to helm each project ensuring that it is perfectly produced.

StoneKap Productions

Chad Kapper, president of StoneKap Productions, is experienced in all areas of video production. He first began his venture into visual arts as a 3D animator. Using computer animation and digital video, he can make any vision a reality. Starting out small, he learned the tools of the trade and began to slowly expand his vision from here. He takes a great deal of pride in his work and believes the job is not completed until it is done right. After having a few years of experience with animation, he founded StoneKap and began to expand into other production work.

In addition to the numerous television commercials that he has produced, through StoneKap Productions, he was acclaimed at the Ohio Independent Film Festival for his digital feature "Nine Days Wonder," which garnished an award for best feature.

Most recently, Chad has also completed a narrative short film called "Without Warning" which was a public service announcement for Angels on Track Foundation, prompting the need for increased safety precautions at unprotected railroad crossings.

In the fall of 2001, Chad worked with Eric Muss-Barnes to produce the short film "F(r)iends" in one afternoon. A project designed to just "keep in practice" and do a fun narrative piece, Chad wrote, shot, edited and directed the show while Eric assisted with editing, directing and the end of the storyline.

During the spring of 2001, Chad co-directed (with Tony Urban) and shot the film "Losing Hope" in Pennsylvania. It is a quirky, fun comedy about a little girl with gigantic ears who is always getting picked on at her gradeschool. The story focuses on her young mother, Hope, who is attempting to scam her way into $3000 to pay for plastic surgery to fix her daughters mockery-inducing ears. The show was edited by Eric Muss-Barnes at Dreamdancer Motion Pictures.

"Eric (of Dreamdancer Motion Pictures) is nothing short of phenomenal. He's a dedicated editor with an incredible eye, who works with courage and intelligence and a fine sense of humor. He's a bright pleasure to work with."
-Genie Davis, Producer
